MyOEA. Oncology Expert advisor

I'm excited to showcase this work in that it was truly a team effort for the IBM Watson OEA team. Taking what we had learned from Oncology Expert Advisor (core product) we were given the opportunity to pitch a patient facing app to MDA. The timeline to get a prototype up and running was very quick, a matter of days. Using a user centered approach, I was able to work one on one with the developer to put together a UI that spoke to the existing Watson corpus of clinical information that contained up to date clinical literature and possible cancer treatments tailored to the user (the patient).

It's important to understand that the mentality of the patient can differ widely depending on the person. This solution is not for everyone. But, many youthful people who are confronted with the unfortunate diagnosis of cancer want the ability to take ownership of their treatment path. They want to be able to speak intelligently with their doctor and know the risks and benefits. This app is for that patient.
